History (11-14 Years)

Learners will learn about historic world events and the role they played in shaping civilization.

Class Description

We will meet once a week for 35 minutes in this class. Each week we will discuss historical events that came to shape civilization and the world as we understand it. Students will be introduced to early human civilization as well as modern day history. Students will be asked to give their thoughts on how things might be very different if not for these events. We will cover events in areas such as; agricultural growth, battles, and discoveries. Through this class students will gain understanding in just exactly how we have arrived at the world we know today. The class will be interactive, with guided discussion. PowerPoint slides will also be used to engage and learn. In this class, we enjoy creating an atmosphere where children are comfortable with being themselves and discovering just how brilliant their minds can be. No prior knowledge is required.
